Yoko Ikeda specializes in innovation policy from the view point of relationship between innovation and regulation under the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

She takes a position as a director at the Cabinet Secretariat. She is also a consulting fellow at the Research Institute for Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) in Japan. In 2024, She pubulished the book "Innovation Implemented by Public-private Co-creation: Challenges of the regulatory sandbox and beyond".
