After completing a graduate program at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Engineering, he worked at Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd. and other firms before co-founding bitFlyer, Inc. in 2014. Since the founding of bitFlyer, he has been dedicated to proposing amendments to domestic regulations concerning cryptocurrencies and developing self-regulatory rules. He has also served as the CEO of bitFlyer USA, Inc. and Chairman of bitFlyer EUROPE S.A., contributing to the development of the cryptocurrency exchange industry from a global perspective. In 2018, he founded the Japan Virtual Currency Exchange Association (currently the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association: JVCEA), a self-regulatory organization. He has also participated as an expert in the Cabinet Secretariat's Basic Plan for Promoting Public-Private Data Utilization. Currently, he serves as the CEO of bitFlyer Holdings, Inc., CEO of bitFlyer, Inc., CEO of bitFlyer Blockchain, Inc., and Director of bitFlyer USA, Inc. Additionally, he is the Representative Director of the Japan Blockchain Association (JBA), a Committee Member of the ISO/TC307 Domestic Review Committee, an advisor to Metaverse Japan, and an Opinion Leader for the Ministry of Defense. Since the company's inception, he has been actively involved in various efforts to advance the web3 industry, with a mission to "Make the world simpler with blockchain."
